Singing a cover of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” is usually either a hit or a miss, but in this case, NBC’s America’s Got Talent contestant, Grace VanderWaal, struck the nail right on its head!
Grace is a 12-year-old singer-songwriter from New York. Her young age belies an outstanding talent. Just by the way that she sings and performs, you’d swear that she had decades of experience. It’s really incredible to hear that voice coming from such a young girl, a very talented young girl indeed.
In addition to her having a very distinctive singing voice, her accompaniment of a ukulele definitely sets her apart from other young artists.
Grace recently earned the golden buzzer from Howie Mandel when she performed an original song on America’s Got Talent. The buzzer sends her straight into the semifinals, and we can’t wait to see her next TV performance. We’re pretty sure that she’ll blow away the judges – and the audience – all over again.
In this terrifically relaxing video, Miss VanderWaal transforms an old classic into her very own work of art. It’s not difficult to tell that she really connects to the lyrics she’s singing. Her voice is one of the most comforting sounds we’ve ever listened to, and she couldn’t have picked a better song to play.
