Patsy Cline’s voice is simply remarkable, but thanks to Sheryl Crow and Willie Nelson, her song and spirit continue to live.

Crow and Nelson performed Cline’s “Crazy” during their CMT Crossroads performance back in 2002, and totally amazed the crowd. There wasn’t any noise from the crowd as they were shocked by this enchanting performance.

“Crazy” was actually composed by Nelson in 1961 for country singer Billy Walker, who turned it down because he thought that it wasn’t a man’s song. Nelson, who was then an aspiring songwriter, met Patsy’s husband in a bar and suggested the song to him. She didn’t like it at first, but when her producer reworked it, she recorded it in late 1961 and ended up falling deeply in love with it.

“Crazy” peaked at #2 in the charts in 1962 and is regarded as one of the best country songs of all time.

Once their performance is over, I wouldn’t be surprise if you end up wanting to play this song over and over again. Crow and Nelson accurately express Cline’s essence in the song, and performed one of her most classic tunes beautifully.

LYRICS

Crazy
I’m crazy for feeling so lonely
I’m crazy
Crazy for feeling so blue
I knew you’d love me as long as you wanted
And then some day
You’d leave me for somebody new

Worry
Why do I let myself worry?
Wondering
What in the world did I do?

Oh, crazy
For thinking that my love could hold you
I’m crazy for trying
And crazy for crying
And I’m crazy for loving you

Crazy for thinking that my love could hold you
I’m crazy for trying
And crazy for crying
And I’m crazy for loving
You
